Coors' Aspen Edge and the American Hiking Society name Denver's Sand Creek Greenway one of Nation's Top 10 Fitness Trails of 2005

Aspen Edge Joins American Hiking Society in Maintaining the Nation's Trails; Consumers Can Win Hiking Trip to Aspen

Golden, Colo. (May 1, 2005) - Aspen Edge(tm), Coors' low-carb light lager, and the American Hiking Society, the only national organization dedicated to establishing, protecting, and maintaining America's foot trails, have named Denver's Sand Creek Greenway Trail one of the top 10 fitness trails in the United States. This honor comes on the heels of Denver being named one of the top five fittest cities in the country by Men's Fitness magazine.

Fitness trails are defined as trails within 20 minutes of a major metropolitan area - meaning consumers can use them before, during or after work - have elements that can be completed in 60 to 90 minutes and can be used for a variety of fitness activities including trail running, hiking and biking.

Denver's Sand Creek Greenway is a 14-mile public greenway that connects the High Line Canal in Aurora with the Platte River Greenway in Commerce City.

It passes through Denver and the former Stapleton International Airport site. The trail is perfect for busy Coloradoans looking to combine their need for physical exercise (an average-size person hiking just two miles an hour burns more than 200 calories an hour) with their love of the outdoors.

The trail's gentle surface makes it suitable for fitness enthusiasts of any age to enjoy walking or running, as well as view Colorado's natural beauty - everything from eagles to egrets. Parking is available in marked areas all along the Greenway.

"The Sand Creek Greenway is the perfect example of municipal collaboration as neighboring cities created something together that we could have never achieved alone," said Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, who proudly represents one the healthiest and most active cities in the nation. "We are delighted that Aspen Edge and the American Hiking Society are focusing attention on fitness and outdoor recreation - two of Colorado's greatest strengths."

To support the work of the American Hiking Society, Aspen Edge is contributing $20,000 to protect and maintain America's favorite trails. Purchases of Aspen Edge help fund this donation.

In addition to supporting trails nationwide, Aspen Edge is offering consumers the opportunity to experience Colorado's rich beauty to its fullest by registering to win an all-expense paid trip for four to Aspen, Colorado. Outdoor enthusiasts can register at www.aspenedgelager.com through June 30, 2005 for a chance to win the trip, which includes airfare, accommodations and spending money. Winners will be announced in July 2005.

"Aspen Edge and the American Hiking Society are pleased to name Denver's Sand Greenway as one of the nation's top fitness trails," said Sara Mirelez, brand director, Aspen Edge. "The Aspen Edge consumer embraces life and makes smart choices about diet and exercise and is just the kind of person to make use of their local fitness trail."

In addition to the Sand Creek Greenway, Aspen Edge and the American Hiking Society identified the following top fitness trails throughout the country:

* Albany, N.Y.: Red Trail, John Boyd Thacher State Park

* Austin, Texas: Barton Creek Greenbelt

* Boston: Rock Circuit Trail, Middlesex Fells Conservation Area

* Indianapolis, Ind.: Indiana Central Canal Towpath

* New York: Long Path

* Phoenix: Black Rock Loop, White Tank Mountain Regional Park
