Upcoming Volunteer Activities

We have several volunteer opportunities currently in the works. Please indicate your interest in volunteering through the web sign-up form below. More details will be posted as we get closer to the events.

Volunteers

To date, over 1500 volunteers have invested time, talent, sweat and experience to help build Sand Creek Regional Greenway.

Volunteer opportunities at Sand Creek Regional Greenway fall into five categories:

Outreach:
If you enjoy public speaking or are interested in helping in other ways to spread the word about the Sand Creek Greenway, consider volunteering for our outreach activities. We'll provide all the training and materials and schedule the actual events.

Construction/planting:
Pre-planned group planting or construction projects that occur as the need arises, typically once a year. Time commitment is several hours on one or two days, depending on the project.

Event Volunteers:
Roles abound in executing fund raising events such as our opening of the Morrison Nature Center or our annual REI Volunteer Day at Stapleton or our annual fundraising event (January 18, 2006). Time commitment can be several hours at the event and/or pre-event planning participation for a few hours a month over a several-month period.

Committee Work:
Committees meet monthly. Examples of committees include Finance and Audit, Fund Development, Communications and special committees formed to plan and implement events. Time commitment is a few hours per month.

Administrative Volunteers:
Assist with mailing of newsletters, invitations and other large mailings. There are also opportunities for data entry, research and special projects. Time commitment varies from a few hours for mailings to several hours over a number of months for special projects and research

If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know! We'll add you to our list and keep you informed of opportunities that might interest you.
