The Sand
Creek Regional Greenway is a jewel in the necklace of
trails that has made the metropolitan Denver area a national
model for linked trail systems. This
14-mile public greenway connects the High Line Canal
in Aurora, Colorado with the South Platte River Greenway in Commerce
City. Along the way, it passes through Denver and the newly formed Stapleton community.
The Sand Creek Regional Greenway is open every day from dawn until dusk. Runners, walkers, nature viewers, horseback riders, and leashed dogs are encouraged to enjoy the trail. We invite you to become
acquainted with our wilderness in the city.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
Our 2012 MLK Day of Service project at Bluff Lake Nature Center was fantastic! A big thanks to the 30 community volunteers and 20 AmeriCorps NCCC volunteers who graciously came out on their day off to pick up trash and remove invasive weeds. Over the course of three hours we picked up over 50 bags of trash and removed 3 truckloads of kochia, a noxious weed. Please visit our Facebook page for pictures from the day.

Colorado Gives Day a Huge Success
On Tuesday December 6th, Colorado Gives Day raised 12 million dollars for more than 900 local charities. In the SCRGP's first year of participating in CO Gives Day, we raised almost $4,000 in this 24 hour giving period. Thank you so much to all of our generous donors!

If you haven't made your end-of-year donation to the Greenway yet, it's not too late! Click here to make your annual contribution, which will go toward improving the trail, funding volunteer projects, and providing environmental education for at-risk youth in 2012.
Happy holidays from all of us here at the Sand Creek Regional Greenway Partnership!
